Use of Certification Marks & Logos

Use of Certification Marks & Logos

1. Authorization of Use

The right to use the InterGlobal Certification (IGC) marks is granted exclusively to organizations that have achieved a valid certification. This right is non-transferable and is limited to the specific scope and standard for which the certificate was issued.

2. General Principles of Usage

To protect the integrity of the IGC brand and the standards we represent, all certified clients must adhere to the following rules:

  • No Ambiguity: The mark must be used in a way that clearly identifies which management system is certified.
  • Clear Association: The mark must be placed near the name or logo of the certified organization.
  • No Misrepresentation: The mark must not imply that IGC has certified a specific product, process, or service. Certification applies only to the management system.

3. Specific Prohibitions (The “Never” Rules)

  • Product Packaging: The certification mark must not be applied to products or individual product packaging that reaches the end consumer.
  • Laboratory Reports: The mark must not be used on laboratory test reports, calibration certificates, or inspection reports.
  • Misleading Statements: No statements may be made that IGC considers misleading or unauthorized.
  • Business Cards: The logo may be used, but must not imply that an individual is certified — only the organization.

4. Technical Specifications

To maintain the visual quality and consistency of the IGC brand:

  • Proportions: The logo must be resized proportionally without stretching or distortion.
  • Color: The mark should ideally be used in its original colors. Black-and-white versions must remain clear and legible.
  • Size: The mark must be readable but not more prominent than the certified organization’s own logo.

5. Accreditation Marks

If your certificate carries an Accreditation Body mark (such as an IAF member logo), additional strict rules apply. Accreditation marks must not be used independently and must always appear in conjunction with the IGC certification mark.

6. Monitoring and Misuse

IGC regularly monitors the use of its marks through:

  • Surveillance audits.
  • Review of client websites and marketing materials.
  • Investigation of third-party complaints.

Consequences of Misuse: Incorrect use of the mark may result in a request for corrective action, suspension of the certificate, or, in severe cases, withdrawal of certification and legal action.
